Big Willie as of this moment, Noni is a backup for Saka) competing with Martinelli for the left wing spot. That's all we can say for certain.

My opinion is that what he brings us in terms of ball carrying ability with pace into the final third will ultimately see him displace Martinelli, and in my opinion yes that makes him a step up. It's not like Martinelli is a bad player either right, so we are not talking mustafi vs Saliba. These are marginal differences at this level, but still significant enough that it shifts tight games in our favor. Or at the worst case, allows us tactical flexibility and the ability to rest our better players without too much of a drop off in quality.

Mirth premier league sometimes requires an adaptation period. Very rarely do you get a player in that's ready to go full throttle from another league from day one. We all know this. I expect Zubimendi to similarly experience or need an adaptation period.

Edit: and if Gittens looks as good as Noni, and they were obtained for about the same price, while one already has premier league experience, why are we mad, except, again, Chelsea bins?

I just think he seems like a very sheltered and awkward kid. I was watching one of those Sky Sports game show-ish interviews with him and he couldn't name 3 London subway stations despite living in London almost his whole life. He apparently still lives at home with his mom.

HomeSteak yeah how absurd does it get the club getting rid of the player using stats to say look how good this guy is. Of course the party that wants to get rid will use whatever they can to do that but you wouldn't treat them as honest brokers.

Unless he displaces Martinelli he'll be backup. So the question is whether you think backup can give us what we need. We were wrecked by injuries to key players who operate in Madueke's area of the pitch last season. If that doesn't happen and Madueke plays 1,000+ minutes we'll have to decide whether to join those dots. At this point the only thing that joins them is a major trophy.
