At times he looks clueless defensively. There were a few times when he appeared lost and as if he didn't know where he should be. I might be misremembering slightly, but I think there was a passage not long before he went off where he gave away possession in our third, then perhaps won it back or blocked a cross and conceded a corner, and you could see the look on his face was a mix of frustration and concern. I'd imagine Arteta's view was playing heavily on his mind.

Madueke lacks consistency and end product but it was still the right move signing him as he’s essentially saving Saka’s legs.

He’s a bit dumb as a footballer but can be a machine with his physical attributes.

Similar to Martnelli he performs better in the CL than the league.

Don Pacifico

As someone who was sceptical about his signing, think the criticism here is way OTT. His end product is of course lacking but there's a lot else to work with here. He's also young so plenty of scope to remedy those issues.

Don Pacifico he's not that young. He'll be 24 in a few weeks. I don't think we are going to see considerable development from him. If he's going to add more to his game I think/hope he can learn to be a better team player in defence and build up deeper. He's really lacking in those areas and he's not doing close to enough on the other end to justify it. At least with Martinelli you get some dry spells but he does the dirty work well.

Gurgen its the most important skill. Read anything about youth development and its at the top of the list.

Doc yeah he's an ok place holder while we wait for Max to arrive. I'd give it another season after this one and then Max will have his spot.

This guy seems to do everything well except the end product! I do think with a bit more game time that will come and down to a bit of composure rather than any technical flaw in his game.

Still despite that I think he has done alright, comes on and gives us a different direct kind of threat. He is at his best on the right and he isn't better than Saka but he did step in when Saka was out injured and played alright. However he needs to more than alright and needs to start scoring and or assisting a lot more.

JazzG I think it's also about getting into the right positions. Saka doesn't score only goals of his own making, he gets into the right areas to receive passes and rebounds. That's something Madueke can learn.

Very tricky player, the way he blows past opponents is fantastic.. It's just a shame that unfortunately what follows is erratic. Doesn't look like he's aiming for anyone particular with his final ball nor does he hit it well. We see these types of player all the time. Feels like a toss up with him - he either kicks on to become a serious player or he's turning out on Everton's wing in a couple of season's time.

Burnwinter this was the feedback and analysis at the time, end product often lacking and inconsistent which has looked to be on the money to be fair.

It does make you wonder if it's actually true that "you are what you are before you got here". Madueke by all accounts works hard on finishing and that last bit of his skillset, but once we get into real game scenarios he reverts to type, and is unable to have much impact in the final third.

Guess we signed him for the get it there enough times and hope something happens vibe.

players like him need to develop out of the spotlight. don't know why chelsea bought him so soon and why we thought it was a good idea to take our shot after chelsea failed. and then chelsea turned around and did it again with gittens. between the clubs and the players no one is thinking rationally anymore.

Has been pretty much as expected.. good dribbler with not much else.. still has time to develop but don't see him making any claim to the first team. Keeping Max's place warm till he arrives
