HomeSteak yeah how absurd does it get the club getting rid of the player using stats to say look how good this guy is. Of course the party that wants to get rid will use whatever they can to do that but you wouldn't treat them as honest brokers.

Klaus I do think he'd be a great player for a different side but am not convinced he will give us what we need.

Think he'd be a good player for a team like Newcastle funnily enough....

Unless he displaces Martinelli he'll be backup. So the question is whether you think backup can give us what we need. We were wrecked by injuries to key players who operate in Madueke's area of the pitch last season. If that doesn't happen and Madueke plays 1,000+ minutes we'll have to decide whether to join those dots. At this point the only thing that joins them is a major trophy.

Haven't seen the Arteta interview but was there mention of when he'll be joining the squad? We rushed it through for him to not be on the tour anyway. Will he be available for the start of the season?

I get you're not enthused by Madueke but spinning the fact we got the deal done quickly as a bad news story...I dunno. And I know there's an allusion to the Gyokeres deal but I don't think the situations are the same.

Noni will wear the number 20 shirt, and due to his playing commitments in the Club World Cup this summer, will join up with the squad in early August after our Asia tour.

Genuinely just wanted to know if he'll be available for the opening game as I'd missed the comment on when he'll be joining up, and as things stand he'll likely be needed at some point in the first game.
