awooga83 Salah and De Bruyne are but two players - albeit two of the all time greats. We have good forwards although not at that level throughout the league, yet scoring is down. Look at all the forwards City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, etc accumulated in the last year. None of them really took off despite lighting up places like Bundesliga before. It’s just hard to score.
If progressions, shots etc were at the same level, it would be easy to isolate forwards as poor. We just aren’t even creating enough dangerous positions on the field.
The game will evolve again. Will be interesting to see what people do to break these defenses.
