This ignores the fact that Arteta inherited Saka, Martinelli, Smith Rowe, Nelson and Nketiah who all had varying degrees of importance throughout his tenure. It's the one area of the pitch where the academy and youth signings filled a lot of gaps and offered value.
It's as dumb as people laughing at the fact that Wenger only bought two CB's Upson and Stepanovs in his first four years as manager, while ignoring that he inherited Adams, Bould and Keown.
I'm not saying we shouldn't have bought more attackers, but it's obvious with some thinking that we were relatively set there compared to other areas where we needed better players.
