Mirth I didn't necessarily say the goal makes me sad. I said it's sad the CL ultimately ended in heartbreak. I don't think that's unreasonable.
Certainly in the immediate weeks after the loss my main feeling about the CL is one of disappointment as I really thought it was a chance that doesn't just come around every season, evidenced by how many years it was between semi finals. Obviously happy to have gone further than usual and beat one of the big teams but still gutted to fall short against a team equally under pressure having also not won it before. The Rice goal is still one of my all time favourites.
