But it seems to me that Arteta loses whatever. If they win the title, critics will point to the alleged tedious nature of their football as devaluing the achievement, citing the amount of time and money spent to achieve it.

I'm tempted by this theory of the writer's, but to fully buy into his point of view I'd really like to see a practical demonstration.

Really want him to win us a title. Clearly weighed down by the intensity of expectation and pressure of it all. Not surprised and also happy he talks openly if briefly about the staff needing someone around too for some positivity and love.

He is I would like to think a very different coach next season if he finally wins it this season. He has done the hard work.

HomeSteak well, because it's true both ways. "in your hands" sin this context usually means that if you win your remaining fixtures you win the league. That's true for both City and us.

We're still in all the competitions we have entered this season, and we're still top of the league. We just smashed Spurs again.

A negative view of all this can be taken up by choice, but that's all it is, a negative view taken up by choice. It has no evidentiary bedrock other than that we definitely haven't yet definitely won any silverware in February, which frankly is not a fact worth shaking a stick at in the context of an English football season.

I have a different and less negative view that also lacks solid ground. I enjoy hoping for victory. I feel my hope is a very normal factor when supporting a sports team or sportsperson. And if I seem to nibble away at the stuff you post it's not to prove you definitely wrong, but to remind you you're far from definitely right, which I also enjoy.

My judgment of the club is based on recent history but I think what would constitute something generally different is if come end of march/start of April we are more then 3 points clear at the top of the league (so 4+) that would genuinely allow me to view this team as doing something different from what I've seen over the past seasons. Until then they are falling into what we've seen previously and so far that hasn't been enough.
