Gazza M MLS trying (too) hard to make something happen. Saka is struggling but they’re ,asking him closely. I don’t get the Rice abuse, he’s trying to take control of the game just not happening g.for him. Ode has actually been better than recently but far from his best.
Mirth sadly, watching this game, I can't help but feel Martinelli is a prime example of a player who doesn't have enough ideas in his locker. When you compare him to front three of PSG, there's no comparison in terms of technical ability in the final third.
PSG had plenty of chances too around the goal, the Kvara hit on the pole, the saliba mistake on top of the goal
When you have better attackers you make make better chances
Our only consistent threat at goal is Saka
Qwiss this is why I don't subscribe to the "sort the striker position out and we're golden" thinking. Midfield is being shown up against elite ballers.
Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert We are really bad at short, quick and accurate passing. Practically none of our midfielders can do it and that holds us back.
Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert we could really do with a striker here too though. That ball from Saks Merino nearly got to needed a top CF.
Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert Fucking Wirtz apparently has declared for Bayern. Fuck them all.
Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert
Odegaard has not been as bad as Rice, but I maintain he should not be starting next season. Zubimendi-Rice-Odegaard is still not good enough as a midfield.
Too much lacking in the latter two's technique and vision.
Gazza M yep. Saka has been putting in a few decent crosses but no ones there to do anything with it. Oh well.
Don Pacifico yeah when you look at the goals in these semi-final you can see what we're lacking
Qwiss we're relying on a half-fit Saka and Declan Rice to step up, which no slight on them just isn't good enough
USArsenal been shite
flobaba
Think he's not fully fit. He was rushed back into this game (probably his own choice)
tazmania shocking header out.
flobaba I don't know if your suggesting there is no-one we could sign but if so I don't believe that is true and we signed Cal and Merino in the summer which were clearly prioritised by him and they haven't improved us for be.
awooga83 I’m saying Arteta made it clear what he wants. Multiple times. The club did not deliver. That’s on the club. Not him.
Just get Cali and Trossard on.
Don Pacifico Rice isn't one of those players. Real was great but he doesn't do it often. He's not that guy.
flobaba it's sickening how predictable some transfers are.
flobaba stop man. we're 5 years and 500m in and look at the state of our forwards. and yes, he was virtually given top down input on transfers, so the buck does largely sit with him eg. havertz wasn't edus idea. that was entirely mikels Jupiter brain in action
Gazza M okay cool. Not going into this discussion at this time. We’ve done it to death
Gurgen
Yes, but 50cm further to the side, and it is a goal. Same as the home leg. Just a little bit better finishing, and we'd have scored 2-3 goals ny now.
Even the syndicated broadcast is running with the tagline "Wasteful Arsenal Punished in Paris" going into the second half
Burnwinter could be worse. I heard CBS cut to show smoke in the Vatican.
Qwiss I think the problem is that we are forced to rely on him as Ode cannot deliver.
Qwiss I think he's shown more recently that he's capable of taking responsibility, in the same way Vieira did. Not necessarily goalscoring but the way he can carry the ball.
Really hope Ode sorts himself out because we can't have another season like this.
Dom while I agree with this, I also have to caveat with you don’t always have to have the best players in every position. As a manager you set up to maximize your player’s best qualities. Inter is a good example. Solid team, solid tactics, with decent, but not mind blowing quality.
