I think Merino has done ok, won a few headers and has given us a bit of a platform. Saka has been great (apart from the obvious...), Rice very good too, and the back four have done their job. Martinelli needs to be a bit braver and Odegaard and Party need to wake up.

Well, that's not the main problem.

Everyone - including Odegaard - knows he's not in good form and probably won't be dictating the game but he needs to stop actively fucking up our counters. We're not great at transitions at the best of times but this could really hurt us in the CL. He's working hard but earnest hard work off the ball doesn't get you to the Champions League final.

Disagree. Saka is usually really solid on pennos. He made a bad decision though. Usually he strokes his foot through the ball. Every pen taker misses one now and then. Saka has scored big pens before.

We are so organized, very impressive. Either that, or Real's only plan is to play it to the feet of one of their front three and hope for the best, may be both. We look good to go through here. Even when Real had a decent-ish spell of pressure we didn't look panicked at all.

Huge exaggeration on Odegaard IMO. He has been no different from the rest of our players apart from Saka who was quite lively in the opening minutes. Our players spent most of the half closing down space and making it hard for Madrid to play through us.

Ode misplaced ONE simple pass to Martinelli and everyone is on his back. I understand the criticism though because it was a simple pass to make and he fucked it up.

Have to agree that he's been no worse than anyone else, but we look to Odegaard to keep the ball and calm us down while helping us create. He's the brain of the team and if he's sloppy, then it doesn't help the rest of the team.

Fwiw, I suspect he's carrying an injury.
