this always felt like a hail mary move anyway.
lets at least fuck up spurs and get lamela. grab di maria, cabaye, flamini as well, and ill call it a decent window

Its not a decent window with a striker.
I'm not fussed by benzema
He's attitude worries me
He's crap anyway.
...so no new striker then? Realistically, whose still available?
Just get a quality wide man like di Maria so we can use Walcott centrally without losing his impact from the wing
would rather not waste money on a mediocre striker. If you can get your hands on Di Maria, Cabaye, a central defender and Flamini, that should get us to January.
Benzema is not mediocre, like Tevez & Rooney before him when playing in a team with C.Ronaldo everything is aimed at maximising his output and justifiably so as he does the business. Lead striker here I think he could become top drawer.
I just can't see this happening though, relies on too many things falling in place to actually make it happen. Then depends on whether the player actually wants to join!
Benzema's agent has admitted that there's no chance of this Jazz.

sorry to be unclear, JazzG. Benzema is definitely NOT mediocre. given that we are not getting Benzema or Suarez, i would rather not waste money on someone like the Swansea boy who is not much better than Giroud.
Benteke, Lamela, Rooney, Suarez all would be good signings and seemingly available as striking options.
I don't think Suarez or Rooney were ever viable options.
Wonder if we'll be offered Kaka.
I don't think ancelotti wants rid. Spoke about him upping his fitness level

Not good enough for us anymore and this is coming from a big Kaka fan (his legs have gone).
Plus Ancelloti was Kaka's coach at Milan, they have almost like a father son relationship so I doubt he will leave the Bernabu.
Imagine if your Bale though, you go to training, on one side you see Zizou, the other Ronaldo and not in a far distance Kaka. Big difference to seeing the likes of Adebayor and Yohannes Kaboul in training every day. Must be a giant pull for any player.
Imagine Cesc and RVP at Barca and United respectively. Must have been a big pull for them.
Scored for Madrid tonight
