I'd throw up to 30 million at this guy and feel comfortable, even if it meant selling a bunch of our incognito folk. His arrival would open the way for Bendtner to take his talents to Germany

He was tremendous before he got injured. I just feel a little sad when I'm watching a stale 'Classico' game and the Madrid bench alone has Higuain, Kaka, Benzema and Adebayor. The last bird will probably fly back to Manchester next month, but the other three must be feeling underused.

It's funny after I mentioned Bergkamp I started thinking about how much the 7.5 mill we spent on him in '95 would be in today's prices... more than the 30 million anyway!

I think Kroenke has to make a big investment or risk the ire of the fans. The Wengerites especially could look to blame him if things continue to go wrong next year.

we can forget about signing 30mil signings till wenger is here, he has this stubborn attitude towards spending so much on a player and thats why 15-16mil is the max he ever spends on a player.

let's not forget it was bruce rioch who bought dennis bergkamp and i agree it was a marquee signing as bergkamp went on to be a true club legend.

and bruce rioch also had some arguements with the board as he had requested more transfer funds to make some more signings, here is a quote from his wiki page.

Just before the beginning of the 1996–97 season, Rioch was sacked after a dispute with the club's board of directors over transfer funds.

Oh, and the story I heard about Rioch was that Dein offered him the opportunity to go for a couple more top players, one being Seedorf, but he took so long in deciding whether he wanted them the chance went.
