The strategy for opponents for rest of the season will be simple. Stack the defense and midfield for a draw or get a lucky goal for a win/draw. We won't be scoring more than 1 goal a game that much. This season is a write off
Do it to yourself, you know you want to …
Qwiss Fuck that, it's a cursed season.
Never did it. Season was over when Odegaard got hurt. It became even further over when we lost Saka. Done well to hang in there up till now I think. Only hope we don't run the likes of MLS, Nwaneri into the ground as well, for no reason.

Every game is going to be like this one now without a goal theat. The league is gone but the concern now is the inability to score will see us dragged down into a battle for the CL places.
I feel the opposite, this Liverpool team is simply not that good. Salah is having an all time season and dragging them over but if we got our act together and without injuries I still think we'd finish above them.
Injuries and our summer window has cost us big time. We let Vieira, ESR and Eddie go and did not bring in a single attacking player, simply not good enough.
JazzG single attacking player
Don't forget Sterling!
JazzG Vieria, Eddie and ESR would have done fuck all for us this season
Sicario2 - Tier 1 they’ve all largely been mediocre and or injured.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Difficult to argue we'd have got less out of ESR who has made 24 appearances (out of 26 games) with 5 goals and 2 assists than Sterling who has, well, technically stepped on the pitch a few times. Certainly agree the 3 needed an upgrade, but they were all jettisoned with no replacements and our starters in those positions are now all crocked because they were run into the ground with noone to rotate them with or sub them off for.
Sicario2 - Tier 1 I doubt they would have done fuck all but that isn't the point. The reason we have no Saka, Havertz and Martinelli is because we ran them into the ground, we had nobody to rotate them with. Even if it last 20-30 mins of a game that all adds up.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 having Emile and Eddie right now would be a huge help.
Having Eddie to do 15 minutes at the end of games probably could've avoided Kai's injury too
It's over and I actually feel a little relieved. Can take my mind off football for a couple of months and start to dream again in the summer hoping for an Isak only to end up with a Sterling mk2.
TambourineMan damn you Tambourine Man, that's exactly what's going to happen isn't it?
Tam i would rather manage some of our players into health ready for PSV right now. Obviously we cannot afford to plummet, but I want to ensure that Rice and Odegaard look like some version of their best selves by the time that game comes around.
And then it would be good if we can discover. It would be great to see good time given to all of Merino, Zinchenko, Calafiori, Bulter-Oyedeji and White, so that we can have capacity in the wars to come.
Yeah, he's going to say that but if you saw the team against West ham they were not a team that looked like they believed there was anything left in the league to play for. I could see us getting beat by Forest with the general feeling coming from the players. This feels like a very well known arsenal outcome that we've seen before.
Tam I think the problem is more that this is happening over our players dead bodies...
Arteta is right. Its no time to just give up or start treating the league like its the Carling Cup by playing Bulter-Oyedeji and Zinchenko. Forrest are in a rough spot themselves its time to go out and show you aren't mental midgets and that your first loss in the league since November isn't going to completely rattle you.
Can't be losing to Forrest as we need gaps on them and City to ensure Top 4.
I do for see a drop in performance coming though. Just need to ensure it's mitigated by heading into the PSV tie sharp, and keeping afloat for Top 4.

We got to keep it professional. The league is over but doesn’t mean our season is.
Liverpool really have had some incredible luck. Gong through minutes data. VVD and Salah are respectively the most used outfield players in the league - doing 100% and 98% of all available minutes (having played a game more than most teams). Two future "hall of famers" available all damn season.
Quality x Suitability x Availabilty
Claudius 30 year old plus players in the last year of their contract tend not to get injured and usually play out of their skin. We have seen it this season with our own Partey.
Over my dead body my ass
People need to chill out. Impervious conviction and desire to win are traits we expect and need from Arteta.
The change I'd like to see is the capacity to adapt in terms of recruitment and tactics. It's not gonna come in the next few weeks.

This is unlikely to happen again, so we've gotta hang in, reinforce and come back stronger.
That is the bottom line really, even if we had bought a player or two we'd be facing a massive uphill task. Simply impossible for any team to lose this many key players in this part of the season and stay in the title race.
Agree with this but still am not entirely sure about whether anything could be done in January. If our key targets were available and we simply walked away on price then that is on us. Last summer if where we needed to make sure we didn't leave ourselves short.
Every season new excuse.
2022-2023 - we were never supposed to be in a title race
2023-2024- what can you do about Man City, they are machines
2024-2025 - injuries and red cards reason why we didn’t win.
What will next year excuse be?
@JazzG @RocktheCasbah @Claudius @Don Pacifico if Artera doesn’t win a trophy in 2025-2026 will you want him to stay?

That depends on how we do, if we are pushing for the title and competitive in the CL, that is bare minimum. It also depends on whether the club support him in the summer, if we have a big window and address our needs I don't see why we don't go and win the title. I could be delusional here but if we don't have this injury crisis we go on and win the title imo.
This idea that simply changing manager or throwing a strop and doing something for the sake of it isn't going to win us anything. Our best spell in recent years came after finishing 2nd three times under Wenger. Nor do I believe in this idea that we are entitled to win.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 sorry Sicario, I don't live in the black and white world you dwell in. In your world, you either win or you don't and that's fine, my uncle is the same. I think there's a bit more nuance to the 38 game Premier League season than that.
And I really struggle to understand the anger of so many posts here, given that when I came back to the forum a few years ago, our biggest problem was getting back to the top four. Now it's ”we're not going to win the league, let's sack the manager!" Make that make sense.
It's not an "excuse", it's just reality.

6 years without a trophy IS black and white. Stop deluding yourself. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
There will be a point that no matter how good Artera is, his message will lose meaning. Only so many times you can fuck up and keeping motivating the players
