Ideally we sign a world class left winger, the worst thing we can do is spend a fortune on someone who's older but not better than martinelli like Mudryk. If we can't find the ideal LWF. Sane could be like a Jorginho style signing where he provides depth for a super cheap fee.

And theirs something tasty about if we're chasing a goals and could bring on Sane sesko Nwaneri. 3 lads with deadly shots.

Speedster nice to have better subs but in this instance we are talking about the only change to our starting XI being Zubimendi. I don't think that really moves the needle enough. We've just come off a 74 point season. We need a lot more if we want to finally get over the line. Sesko and Sane would be hugely disappointing if they're the only additions to the attack.

Gazza M another one of my favourites was watching Carini (Uruguay GK) play for us in pre-season (think it was against 1860 Munich) before backing out before the season started.

Qwiss assumption here is that he is the only new winger coming. If Arteta is sufficiently scarred by last season, he might add two more wingers.
My preference is still to get one or Williams or Rodrygo though. Sané as an on top would be welcome. I don’t want another crazy autumn like last year. That’s where our season ended.

Claudius yeah I guess its possible to sign 2 wingers this summer but I'd have to see it to believe it. Williams and Rodrygo both look like they're not going anywhere.

Qwiss I think if we keep our players fit we are 10-15 points better off. But there is a fair argument to be made that our injuries are self inflicted due to lack of depth. That is where someone like Sane is helpful because if we need to rest Saka. Also we need options off the bench, either for rotation or to make an impact.

Every club needs a striker sesko or gyokeres would be major coups. Theirs more money than talent in the market in that position.

I don't know how much we've got to spend but it's looking like a striker will cost 80-90m and zubi 50ish. If we loose partey we need another DLP.
At least we found a cheap keeper.

I think the plan may have been to sell martinelli and get Williams and keep trossard as back up. But it relies on martinelli agreeing to go to a club that wants him and William's agreeing to come to England. It's way more unlikely than likely.

The fall back on that is probably getting Sane which is more doable. But I think he has more talent than hunger and those kind of signings can be iffy as they get older.

It's not the signing you make when you've 100m burning a hole in your pocket. It's the signing you make when you've had to blow the budget on other areas.

Yeahhhhhhhh... But to be fair, the previous season, we had literally the same personnel and we got to 89 points. When you have 3 of your top forwards injured, and your creative hub (Ode) injured for a period of time (and then very off form for most of the rest of the season), and one of your 2 top CB's (Big Gab) out, thats the biggest reason for the drop off.

That said, we 100% need reinforcements. I do not expect us to only sign Sesko and Sane (if Sane is even a realistic target, i think he's staying at Bayern). I expect to see a Williams-type player up front also. We've already basically sewn up our backup keeper (Kepa) and CM (Zubi).. The club will now focus on the forwards that are our targets... And hopefully getting rid of a few peripheral players (Zin, Vieira, etc).

I'm talking about being the 7th forward. I'm not talking about playing some prominent role. If we don't sell Martinelli or Trossard and we sign a center forward and we sign another winger and we sign Sane, then Sane would be our 7th forward. If you really want Max Dowman to go to Manchester United so that we can pay Leroy Sane £100K+ per week in order to play maybe 600 minutes a season, then fair enough. That sounds fucking insane to me. That is the specific thing that I'm saying we shouldn't do. If we were to sell Trossard, though, then things line up.

Also, who remembers Tomas Danilevicius? Lithuanian striker we had on trial during pre season and scored a great goal against Barcelona (I think).

JazzG expecting to keep all your players fit for a season is just unrealistic. You are always going to have a couple of serious injuries over the course of a season. You need quality in the first XI to cover it.

I don't think Arteta is going to change his expectations of Saka either. Doesn't matter who he has as back up.

Qwiss yeah you shouldn't be planning for a season where everything goes perfect. You should assume you'll probably lose some key players and how do you think you will do if they are out/What's your contingency.

I think it's good to be realistic.
Striker 85, zubi 50, GK 5, dpl 25, and a youth player or 2 at 8m each. Brings us to 181m

Let's be realistic with the PSR landscape that would be huge spending and pushing the boat out. And only possible due to lots of sales last year and minimal spending.

I'll take Semenyo as competition to Martinelli. Can also double as Saka's back up.
