Klaus He's similar to Gyökeres in several aspects so maybe he'd fit well into Sporting?

I like the idea but I think persuading him it's in his interest to come here would be a struggle. It's a hard case to make when he'll likely play a lot more at virtually all of our rivals (assuming we sign Gyokeres, of course).

Pepe LeFrits @Claudius It hinges on convincing him that his development will be better here I guess. Chelsea and United have ruined so many young players at this stage that it shouldn't be too hard to sell I think. It's not unreasonable to think that the best thing for Delap's career might be to play another year as a starter somewhere, perhaps let him stay at Ipswitch where he's guaranteed to get minutes, and then let him join Arsenal and compete properly next year.

I don't get why a buzzy player like Delap would sign with us to go play somewhere else, when he probably just sign to be the starter at Chelsea or similar immediately.
Let's stay focused. Zubimendi, Gyokeres, Rodrygo. Just that would be a ridiculous summer. And then we can add a goalie who can dribble the ball without falling over, and maybe one more defender or AM if we still have cash.

I'd say we need another defender, period. Tomi is a write off so our only cover for Saliba is our 2 RBs, both of whom we need to be protective of. We need to religiously adhere to the rule of 2 players per position (or 20 outfield players in the squad), and it needs to be 20 players Arteta trusts and who can stay fit most of the time. We didn't have that this season and we pushed too many players into the red zone.

I don't want us using any funds this summer on players that aren't going to play for us next year. Our window is now and we have to maximize every bit of our budget on the field IMO. We need two attacking signings at the highest caliber if we are keeping Trossard and Martinelli and three if one of them goes. Zubimendi in for the midfield and if Partey leaves, another midfielder would be good. And then if Zinchenko leaves, I'd like to add another defender - same applies to if Kiwior stays/leaves. Personally, I'd want to move on from Partey and Trossard but I doubt we will.

I'd love for us to really focus on getting Zubimendi, Gyokeres and Nico in the door early and then we can operate on a one in, one out policy for the rest of the summer.

Rob Holding wasn't going to playing in a Premier League run-in, until we did. I'd rather we weren't in that position again. If we don't address issues like that there's no amount of superstar firepower you can add to the front line that will make it a good summer.

Zinchenko has been a non-entity for months now. He's already been replaced by Myles. He's one player I don't think we need a replacement for if we can sell.

Klaus he's not going to want to go back to Ipswich and play in the Championship when Chelsea and United are offering him big money and the chance to be the main guy. His price is a great opportunity but unless we think he's got a place in the side now I don't think he's realistic. We certainly aren't signing Gyokeres and another striker, we have Havertz now so that's what we'll go with.

Qwiss Oh trust me I'm completely on board with selling Zinchenko. My preference this summer is to sell Zinchenko and Trossard and replace them with versatile players who can play multiple roles across the defense and attack/midfield.

Just so I am on the record, this is what I'd do in a FIFA/FM save:
Out: Jorginho, Partey, Tierney, Trossard, Zinchenko, Vieira, Tavares, Lokonga
In: Gyokeres, Nico Williams, Eze, Zubimendi, Bouaddi, young CB, Garcia

CF: Havertz, Gyokeres
Wingers: Saka, Williams, Martinelli, Nwaneri
Midfielders: Odegaard, Rice, Zubimendi, Merino, Eze, Bouaddi, Dowman
Fullbacks: Timber, MLS, White, Calafiori
Centerbacks: Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior, Tomiyasu, young CB
GK: Raya, Garcia

That team wins next year and in coming years.

Agreed he's not part of our 22, MLS pushed him out. Tomi, Jesus and Sterling are though and they are the biggest issues in our squad, or at least they were this season. 3 gaping holes where we needed reliable quality.

Pepe LeFrits Yeah I see that. On the other hand Nwaneri has been an addition too, it just depends where it is. He could do another year among the wing options and be considered a replacement for Sterling, he was this season already.

I'm not sure you even get a good 4th choice CB. And I am sure if we had one they'd be rusty as fuck whenever we needed them because Arteta would never give them minutes. How many minutes did Kiwior get before Gabriel went down? And he was 3rd choice.

Qwiss Nwaneri started the season in the 22 as Odegaard's understudy, so we haven't really gained there. We could replace Sterling with more of an AM type if we wanted Ethan as more a winger, but we still need to replace him. Although as I said in another thread, I'm starting to think they'll sell Martinelli and we'll end up with Saka, Williams (or similar), Odegaard as our main trio behind the striker, with Trossard and Nwaneri as the primary cover, and then the final spot will be left to Jesus and Dowman to compete for.

I think you need to aim for someone who is on the younger side who won't mind limited minutes, and who is versatile and can plug gaps elsewhere in the team as needed. Not easy, but can be costly not to have that 8th defender.

I think if you sign Delap you just let him know he won't play much until January. Arteta will have a heavy hand in nurturing/developing him, and I don't think Arteta seems a fan of loans.

I don't think that improves us at all really. Maybe Williams goes supernova but its a big gamble.

Wonder could we get someone who can cover DM and CB. Get the feeling we'll just resign Partey and he'll cover DM and RB.
