JazzG How many games has Havertz played since January? I'm genuinely not taking the piss, I'm making a point! He was out for half a season and now he's had knee surgery. (Both injuries happened in training too which tells you everything you need to know about reliability.) Will he even play before november? Who knows what single digits mean, or if it turns into double digits along the way? With his lack of match fitness it's basically the same as missing half of the season anyway, because he won't be ready to start if we need him to.
We're in the same situation now with him as backup as we were last season when they thought Jesus would be fine. These guys have shown they can't be counted on. Be a big club and fix the mistake before it happens.
