Speedster my guess is we were over Rodrygo earlier in the window but we wanted sales before we bought Eze but when Spurs moved our hand was forced so we went in anyway as we are close to some outgoings being completed. And I think of those outgoings Kiwior and maybe Zinchenko were the only ones close to first team football. Although I think Zinny will probably end up on loan somewhere.

flobaba reports all summer said Palace would take the sort of deal we've ended up paying. They were never holding out for the release clause. It expiring only really strengthened their hand anyway.

Sicario2 He works somewhere in the PR end I reckon, probably in communication or something similar. It's why he has information late in the game about announcements, fees, small tidbits about reactions of the players, etc, but don't know what the fuck he's talking about the rest of the time. Like how he insisted we were signing Sesko even though we were actually deep into finalizing Gyökeres's move. He only changed tune after the Swedish journalist announced we were close to getting it done.

On the upside I do believe him when he talks about Berta's process, I'm sure stories about it is something that would reach his end.

Sicario2 he may well be but I think the idea that this is something unique is silly nobody wants to be low balled. The point around act as your financially set could also apply to us, come back when your serious.

I'm sure they have little pieces of info but to act like they have all the info and if they did and it truly was "secret" they could talk about it online doesn't stack up as they could easily identity who it is in that case and shut them out but probably don't because isn't not that sensitive.

I was thinking that, but by his own admition he's a confidence player and not naturally confident he needs tons of support to preform. If he came to the prem defenders are much tougher has more bad games more competition for his spot and a fiesty manager. Is that the best environment for someone who's mentally soft? I'm not sure.

I like him all the same but we signed a lot of players with no resale value. Nobody cares now but I rivals are signing players that grown in value and selling them beefing the PSR headroom allowing them to spend more. We need keep in touch in that perspective.

The problem is that the ones we sign who don't deliver but should have some resale value because they were bought young, we can't seem to sell them either.

We sold Eddie and Balagun for 30m each.

Gabriel is probably worth x 4 what we paid for him
Saliba is worth at least x 4 what we paid for him
Martinelli is worth x 4 what we paid
Kwior hasn't set the world alight but we're getting 27m offers and rejecting them.

Compare that to Auba, laca, partey and Jorginho aging out to be worthless.

Gyok, Eze, Zubi will age out in there first contract to be 31/32. We've gone for that strategy and I not against it. I'm just highlighting it. Every option has pros and cons.

With these injuries I wonder if we get 1/2 more in. Arteta seems obsessed about not having a repeat of last season (not having enough cover). At least these injuries are occurring now and not after September 1st when we can’t do anything about it

It’s not just about depth and cover - it’s quality. I think we’ll bring in one maybe two more players but they will be dependent on outgoings.

Hopefully we shift Zinchenko, Vieira, Nelson and possibly Martinelli soon
