I’ve been thinking about the left side of the attack, and I’m now convinced Leao would be just the ticket for us. He’s unstoppable at times going forward. Imagine him, Gyokeres and Saka being menaces support by our technical giants at the back

lorddulaarsenal Leao just seems like a player Arteta would have no time for. Rodrygo at least works pretty hard defensively so his base utility is much higher than Leao's. Although I agree that Leao when on it is pretty impossible to play against.

Well, i think it depends on if we're going to sign Eze in addition to Rodrygo.. Clarence said in the other thread that we are still looking for another signing (most likely Eze) and that we do NOT have to sell first for that signing. If we wanted Rodrygo AND Eze, we would probably need to sell. If we wanted Rodrygo INSTEAD of Eze, maybe not so much. (though we should be selling our dead weight such as Nelson, Vieira, etc). Though Rodrygo is considerably more expensive than Eze.

I'd be confident that not having to sell first means in a financial sense, ie. We have funds and headspace with regards to FFP. In terms of numbers, we have Saka, Madueke, Martinelli, Trossard, plus Dowman, Nwaneri (tho he's Ode's cover), Vieira, Nelson and later in the season maybe Jesus too. We need to cut.

I know people who unlike me actually watch a lot of Madrid are very keen on Rodrygo, but he sounds a better than fifty percent chance to flop in England.

Massive fee and wages, and he seemingly can't even decide if it's stick or twist even though he's third fiddle where he is. Spurs are even getting involved which is a warning sign serious clubs don't give a shit about him.

Rodrygo is a little gimp still clinging to the Madrid illusion even though he's surplus to requirements there.

He clearly doesn't want to leave or join us in particular, and I have major doubts about his physicality and mentality.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert I find the idea of putting him on £300k per week after paying a fee of €85m anathema.

As a piece of business the risks would seem to leave anyone advocating it way out on a limb once you consider our pattern of complaints about Jesus, Havertz etc. it's got dumb idea written all over it.

More pace. power and end product. Leao looks like a player who needs a change of scenery (Milan have fallen off since their scudetto win) and some hard heads like Heinze and Arteta on his case. While, he does have some issues, his talent is worth the risk. Martinelli doesn’t look like he’s going to break out of his steady eddy routine anytime soon. He barely registered 10 goals in all competitions, We need to try something new.

Pathetic comment. Leao is desperately inconsistent, 2 years older than Martinelli, doesn't have much better output despite being in a weaker league. Last time he had a big season was when Martinelli had a big season. And Leao does no defensive work. Some games he barely does anything. No thanks.

Leao needs a change of environment to get going again, players can go stale but his quality is all there to he seen. He’s a lot less wasteful than the Brazilian, better dribbler and better finisher as well.

Leao is a player who drive Arteta cracked. He doesn't work hard and he seems tactically not the most the switched on. Talented player but doesn't have the attitude to excel at the top of the game. If we want a new winger lets get someone who would actually improve us. I'd take any of Eze, Rodrygo, Gordon, etc over Leao. And I'd rather stick with Martinelli and Trossard for another year than waste a big fee on Leao.
