JazzG Oh he'll defo score that but if we are spending big I want someone who scores double that or has the potential to become someone like that.
The thing is, most half decent strikers are going to be expensive, especially someone in their prime, who just came off of scoring 97 goals in 2 seasons (even if it was in Portugal). The market is crazy these days, we all know that. We're going to have to spend that kind of money for someone in their prime. Ollie ain't that player. He will be 30 this year, and he only scored 16 goals last year, never scored more than 19 in any Prem season. There's a reason he would be cheaper, he has less upside.
And lets be honest, No striker at Arsenal, outside of the names of Henry or van Persie, have scored more than 24 goals in a season for us (Prem only, of course). The next closest is Alexis & Adebayor with 24. If we sign Gyokeres (which looks likely), and he can hit more than 20, I'd be good with that, since we'll have others who will score also.
