flobaba I think Nwaneri should back up both to an extent. We really don't need Madueke. Sign another left winger instead and we've plenty.

What is gyokeres like as a player? Only seen him a couple times. Seems strong, direct, good finisher, and very intense (good pressing, perhaps). Seems to be lacking a bit in the link up play (no giroud) and headers?

Kel Varnsen Sounds about right. Apparently he was very good for Coventry in a more traditional back-towards-the-goal role but Sweden and Sporting don't really play that way. He works both flanks but favours the left. Excellent dribbler at speed, he sits a defender on his ass in almost every game. He can score with either foot and often shoots with little backlift. I think he's fairly close to Osimhen in profile but he has none of his injury problems (touch wood).

It's the mentality and the hunger that makes him elite though. This guy thrives under pressure. The best strikers share that trait. You don't see them hesitate from the penalty spot in a final; they make sure to shoot so hard that they'll kill the keeper if he gets in the way.

Don Pacifico Same, Leipzig know they have a player on their hand but they are asking for finished product money for a project player. €90m is ridiculous, even spending £60m on him should be near our upper limit.

Like you I'm not convinced about Gyokeres, if we sign him we better be signing Eze & Rodrygo!

daredevil For the right money this is a sensible deal, people just got this idea stuck that we are signing a Chelsea reject. He is a good player but not worth blowing our budget on.

Just be happy we are finally signing a good striker after 3 years and 5 windows in a row of failing to do so. Let’s not over analyse. This guy will be good, 15-20 prem goals minimum I say in first season which is a good return. Our rivals would love to have him.

Sicario2 honestly, he really needs to be 20 goals minimum because he's a 'now' signing. His movement will open up space for our wingers as he'll draw defenders out of position but I'm not convinced his link-up play isn't sufficiently good to compensate if he underwhelms in front of goal. He isn't getting any better at this age and will depreciate fairly swiftly once he hits his 30s.

lorddulaarsenal Giroud was a superb link-up player. Gyokeres wouldn't be assisting that Wilshere goal. Suker also had superb technique; not the same level at all.

Berta’s done really well closing this out before pre season begins. Big fan of his strategy in getting agreements with multiple players and getting them to put pressure on the clubs rather than our previous approach of moving sequentially. I dare say Sesko probably was the preferred striker internally based on work done in the past but RB Leipzig wanted to pressure us and Sesko seemed ambivalent so we did well to turn the tables around.

His biggest test is going to be the LW position. If he gets Rodrygo over the line then he’ll be coming in absolutely clutch

Rodrygo is probably the only one who likely doesn't have an alternative.

Mirth Yep, I think Martinelli and Saka will be the ones who benefit the most. Saka because opponents can't gang up two or three on him anymore, and Martinelli because it helps him overload that flank.
