Was Saliba high? He wasn't himself against city either with 2 chances. That was woeful from him.
Martinelli better not be out for long. I hate Newcastle. We have to smash them next time
Another thing I'll say is we had an intense game against City, we left it all on the pitch that day and we've gone to Newcastle with the same 11. We just didn't have the legs in us, no rotation options and it showed. Newcastle are a very physical team.
Don't worry guys, we will reinforce the frontline with some decent finishers in the January window.....oh wait it's February. Nevermind, there's always next season!
You could sense that physically we weren’t up to it in this game, injuries have compounded our problems as has our lack of depth in attacking positions
this game was a bridge too far after the city game. on top of that newcastle are kryptonite for us even on one of our good days. not really surprised at the result
We still play them one more time, we better give them absolute fucking hell.
Would any one (and the greater fans) have accepted a B squad today?
Sterling - ?? - Nwaneri — Merino — ?? ———- Jorginho —— Tierney - Gab - Kiwior - Timber
Even throwing that out is hard with two of Martinelli, Odegaard, and Havertz having to play.
I think I'd pretty much written this off before it started but Arteta couldn't be seen to chuck out a second string team. If Odegaard had scored we were right in it.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I'll be supporting Spurs tomorrow. I'd love Ange to win a trophy, even for them. Just a small trophy mind you. The Milk Cup is perfect for them.
Asterix prefer Liverpool wins it, one more game to fit in their schedule
I don't give a shit about this competition and I don't think the players do either
Same. Beat then in the league in a couple of months and all of this is water under the bridge
Not being funny but the ball does make a huge difference. You can see how it flies different and doesn’t bounce off the ground the same. More of a Sunday league ball that
awooga83 It's a mentality thing as much as anything. Did we (i.e. the team and manager) really go into that game thinking we could turn over Newcastle and get a result? I don't think so, and even fully fit and fresh I don't think those players would have went out there believing we'd be coming away from the game with a place in the final.
Need to take this on the chin now but like I said, if this team has any balls there should be absolute hell to pay at our ground. Shameless players dick riding Man City for social media likes.
JazzG who cares. Memeclub whose players want to play for City. Good luck to them
JazzG LOL. This shit is funny. We can't take ourselves too seriously. wonder if the Premier League will also sanction provocative social media posts.
JazzG that thug cunt Bruno needs a season ender when we next see him.
Any update on Martinelli injury?
flobaba He is having MRI on hamstring today.
Newcastle have a chip on their shoulder
lorddulaarsenal Arteta needs to chin Howe next time. Why is that no-mark such a thorn in his side FFS?
Everyone wants a rivalry with the Arsenal, think it makes them relevant.
Heh, who cares? Let them have their day in the sun.
lorddulaarsenal Don't trust us to do what we need to do this summer.
Let alone adding replacing Martinelli to our long to do list. I'd keep both him and Trossard and sign better CF and LW than both. Push them down the pecking order.
They were all shit yesterday.
