If you break down their data, you'll see that Partey attempts a greater volume of passes, with higher percentage completion, and more progressive passing. so Partey who is very often criticized for being loose with the ball here is more adventurous than Zubi while also being more accurate. Partey also does more take-ons than Zubi.

Now there are potentially some team effects on the overall volume of passes given that Sociedad have had a down season offensively, scoring only 32 goals, but I am not bracing for a world changing upgrade. Just happy that we have a highly technical player who can pass quickly off both feet and is very good at finding forward runs. Tied to this is our apparent interest in all of Gyokeres, Nico and Rodrygo who have all shown strength in running onto throughballs from centre mid.

A lot of that is about the teams they are on though. You'd expect those stats at one of the more dominant teams at the top of the table as opposed to a midtable side.

Real Sociedad are 4th in possession in Spain, quite similar number to us.. He will be playing with better players though with better movement so would expect those numbers to go... unless he flops, which is unlikely.

Doc Like Gurgen says watch him play for Spain against England, Rodri went off and Spain didn't miss a beat, he'll be playing with much better players and under a coach who will get the best out of him.

I think he'll be a better player than Partey and we'll play better with him.
