banduan The problem with Partey isn't that passes don't come off, it's that the ones which don't come off are generally a result of lackadaisical play around our defensive third rather than progressive passes through the lines. Or, whilst not a passing issue directly, the belief he has all the time in the world to choose his pass in dangerous areas in front of our box.

Tam 100% this. I can't stand the lazy passes Partey sometimes plays in our own defensive third or when we are pushing up and have relatively little cover behind him. Those are killer turnovers and usually completely unforced. Add to it that he's a lost cause tracking back in transition these days since he's lost all of his athleticism and I think we will notice a big difference with a more metronomic player like Zubimendi filling that role. I also think it will allow Timber and Calafiori to take more risks getting forward as they won't have to be in position to cover for Partey.

Partey has an exceptional ability to disguise passes, or beat a man to open up excellent offensive situations.

Zubimendi will be move obvious in his play but he will be solid and will keep things ticking over. He’s like Arteta in many ways in terms of play style

Maybe so, but it sorta does (to a certain extent). It's at least showing some intent to improve in the wake of a bitter defeat.

People poopooing him, i don't know why. ALL the big teams would love to have him on their team. If we are beating the likes of Real or Pool or anyone else, then we've done well.

Definitely is PR, commonly used tactic by clubs to get fans to focus on new players rather than the seasons failures....

Kel Varnsen good signing but Partey is far from finished. He’s great at redirecting angles of attack and his long throws are an option too

JazzG he’s been linked to Liverpool (everybody is thought 😂), Bayern, Real, City have all been linked. A bit like Rice, we won a desired target. Now to do the same up front, which I accept is a much harder marker but has now become urgent

The thing is, we will get someone who can score some goals, but we won't get the top of the top because those players aren't moving. (and there aren't that many of them).

Claudius It is always good to get things wrapped up officially, when Alonso joins Madrid and if he was to put in a call, he might have a change of heart, players have been known to change their mind. Considering we are potentially losing Partey and Jorginho it is imperative we sign a top class CM to replace them.

USArsenal it's less about one specific bonafide star attacking signing IMO. We have a system issue. Need to bolster all three of advanced midfield, left wing forward and centre forward.
