USArsenal With his proactive defensive ability, his reading of the play and his ability on the ball, he's looking like the understudy to Rice at left 8 in the "Xhaka role" for now.

Burnwinter it'd make sense when Merino moves on to slot MLS in there as the Rice alternate. Though as much as I love Myles I'm not sure he could score all those CF goals Mikel does. Certainly not the headers.

JazzG yeah the conductor thing is fair but I'm not sure Anderson has enough for that either. Again another guy I think does better with a Zubi type beside him. Wharton is more stylistically appropriate but I'm yet to be fully convinced, he's very young though so could easily be that in 2 years.

I'm not a fan of Tuchel, I think he's a brittle nutcase, even if that doesn't preclude him doing a better job than Thought Leader Gareth Southgate.

However, here he's just said the truth. Skelly should be getting minutes if he's going to be selected for England. Tuchel's not "pressuring" Skelly, his talent is pressuring him … to become the best left back Arsenal has got.

That's the rub isnt it? I dont think he will be. Calafiori is going to be starting most games as long as he's healthy.

I think Tuchel is just a bit blunt and it might come across as him trying to tell the player to get more minutes elsewhere if needed.

He is 19 years old and while he has shown unbelievable progress you just need to look at who is keeping him out of the team. Calafiori has been unbelievable for us and Arteta is quite right in playing him rather than rushing in MLS who mainly got his minutes last season due to our injury crisis and he seized his chance. Arteta has shown he is happy to play MLS if he feels it is right, like he did against Atletico.

Myles will be loaned out, and that’s not a bad thing. Main issue is ensuring we get him a landing spot where he’s guaranteed minutes.

No, i doubt he will, although a loan to a decent team where he would get a lot of minutes wouldn't be a terrible thing, but it wont happen.

Im pretty sure everyone here is wondering the same thing. He is talented enough to play a few different positions, but is he better than the players in any of them? I honestly don't have the answer to that question.

I do wonder what Myles' path into the first team is now.

Same for Nwaneri. Best off holding onto both for our title chances, but I also think we may need to loan both next season unless they've broken through.

Well yeah, thats true. But if Cala stays healthy (for the most part), then even if MLS was his backup, he wouldnt be playing as much. With Hincapie here, his chances of playing LB is even less, unless Hincapie will play LCB to spell Gabriel, like we saw in the CC game v Brighton.
