Funnily enough, I was having a debate with my mates in Leeds (Leeds, Liverpool, United) last night about this. They took great pleasure in our defeat in Tuesday and haven't been shy about letting me know. I took it on Tuesday but had to draw the line last night when the Leeds fan said Richarlison was so unlikeable he should play for us...
The jist is we all became insufferable about a year ago and that Arteta is tremendously dislikeable. I think the truth, inadvertently articulated by one of the Liverpool fans in the group, is that we're good again and people - particularly the northerners - preferred it when we were shite.
Ultimately though, I do understand that us being disliked by everyone is the natural order of things. And, having grown up with George Graham's teams, I probably prefer that to the fawning praise we got from everyone twenty odd years ago.
