They've created a wall of defenders, suffocated the middle. They know we don't take shots from central positions so they're letting us pass around there.

Wings are covered well. We need a set piece or moment of quality or a mistake to get that first goal. We're moving and passing like the floor is molasses

Timber, Rice, MLS and Merino are man for man all downgrades on White, Partey, Zinchenko and Xhaka in terms of speeding up the tempo and ball progression.

I still think people underestimate how much Xhaka did for the team and Martinelli.

Our ability to create chances from open play has nosedived over the past two seasons and it all starts from the players at the back setting the pace and passing through the lines. No matter what combinations we play, we haven't been as good as in 22/23 at moving the ball.
