Why we couldn't get the ball to the forwards?
Rice was the only one progressing the ball or playing it with any pace, but we will all know he's no Jorginho or Partey in that department. Timber and MLS offered absolutely nothing in terms of ball progression or speed. Too casual, too backwards, too laboured.
Inverting fullbacks makes sense if you have players who can pass well, but it makes no sense to have players like Timber and MLS do it. You're not only destroying the buildup but it's a double whammy because you're also isolating your wingers.
