Havertz with a strong cameo. Pity Jesus couldn't work his way more into the starting CF reckoning by finishing one of those chances ffs. He's such a dreadful finisher but most of our players are.

Merino quite neat in the second half.

Raya with uncharacteristically poor kicking.

goon

good thing we apparently did not need them tonight.

Was in a box for this 1! Different experience but still very enjoyable! MLS great pass for the 1st goal. He can take Zinchenko's place in the squad next season.

Very happy with the win. Would be great to avoid that knockout round in Feb. 1 more win will do it 😃

I was surprised at the number of empty seats. Almost felt like I was at a league cup game. Upper tiers and club level seats had plenty of bald spots. It's surprising since there was a lot to play for in this match.

I couldn't be arsed to wake up to watch, just saw the tail end cos it's when I usually wake up anyway.

A little bit ennui, a little bit bad timing.

banduan you missed a good performance. Lots of promising performances. Saka was special. Declan’s distribution was excellent. And Kiwior, MLS, and Jesus made claims for more playing time.

Qwiss Dom the game sold out, I know because I applied for and didn't get tickets.

There were a ton of tickets on ticket exchange hours before the game. So sold out but loads of no shows.

Qwiss If you want to score open play goals, you need to create open play chances. And Jesus consistently made good runs that gave him opportunities to scores goals. And then he created the Saka goal.
If I compare this performance to what we have seen in other games, it’s a big step up and means he can step in for Havertz if he maintains or betters this showing

My brother said there were literally dozens of seats (maybe a couple of hundred?) available on ticket exchange the night before the fixture. While at the game I hadn't seen so many empty seats in a PL or CL game for a couple of years now.

Our football has not been great and we're close to being out of the title race, but this is nothing like 2019 when MAYBE you could be forgiven for not wanting to watch Emeryball on a chilly evening.

Dom in 2019 I could get tickets for 90% of games with no issue. I'd go over multiple times a season. It's pretty galling now to see so many empty seats when I've been applying all season with no luck.

Qwiss That shit was some quality @Claudius -posting.

Happy with this result. If the league continues to go to shit, thoughts will certainly turn to Europe in the back half of the season.

good to hear that cos I wasn't sure I liked what I saw at 1-0 😆

banduan was a game in 3 parts

            • first half we were completely dominant and should’ve scored 2 or 3. We had 8 shots to 2
            • beginning of second half, they made subs and packed their midfield, allowing them to control the ball. We were out of the game for 25 minutes. 0 shots to 5
            • last 20 minutes. We made some subs and took back control. Scored 2 goals. 8 shots to 0

I thought Jesus was good too for what it’s worth. Missing 1v1s is part of his profile even at his best, but physically and in terms of involvement he was much more like himself. The crazy dribbling is still not there though.
