Ben Jacobs should be banned as a source, even in houseboat terms

DiabyKungFu he's a 3+ year project at best.

Funny, I was in Birmingham last week, chatting to a colleague who was claiming a passing acquaintance with Cunha. He reckons the new deal is done, we shall see I guess...

Why would you sign a long termie with Wolverhampton bloody Wanderers if you have a profile like Cunha has?

Qwiss I'd actually love for us to take a gamble on him but like you say we are in the middle of an injury crisis and signing an injury prone forward might not be best use of funds! Seem some talk of doing a loan with option or obligation.

Interesting by the coach…

Personally I think it’s a big red flag for his character the way he acted today and I would bet Arteta does too. We need a winger or a CF and not someone who is neither IMO.

Not sure I am bothered about it without more detail. Trossard had issues at Brighton but he's just a high key person, not a troublemaker. He doesn't show less than professionalism and a competitive attitude coming off the bench here.

This is the type of midfield we need. Cunha solves a lot of creativity issues.

daredevil but we still have issues in our forward line then. I don’t think addressing the attackers by adding another midfielder is the key right now. We need attacking depth and I don’t see him slotting in well in any of the LW/ST/RW positions as well as someone like Mbeumo. If we were able to sell Jesus and Trossard then maybe I’d entertain Cunha as a versatile impact sub but having all three is a waste to me even if he’s more effective than them.

I don't like Cunha as my first choice, but would eventually take him due to the capacity issue we have. Reason I don't like him is I think Havertz is a good centre forward. I would like another centre forward, either an upgrade (Isak/Osimhen) or an exciting project (Sesko). What I do not want is an expensive tweener who still leaves us in a position where we would ideally want to get another pure centre forward in the team.

samthegooner Players can get like this to force a move, it isn't pleasant but a lot was written about Trossard before he joined us, his behaviour has been spot on and never heard a bad word since.

Claudius Problem we've got is in January options are limited. If Cunha is available whereas other options are either ruled out or too expensive we have a decision to make.

I think Cunha would be a good squad addition, we probably need at least 2/3 players in our front three as Trossard is probably going in the summer, then Jesus needs to be moved on as well.

yeah, agree. not my first choice but our numbers situation just needs a high quality body even if its not the very best. i really wanted Nico Williams in the summer. when the summer ended and we didn't have him, i thought we could survive. i think the combo of a thin squad, lots of players working through the summer, and that tough September/October just wiped us out. which, in retrospect, the club might have been able to predict as a real downside risk once we had all the fixtures.

Didn't release but both Wissa and Mbeumo contracts up in June 2026

I agree we have a numbers issue but isn’t a £30m Trossard signing to build depth- it would likely be at least double that. And it would likely include unwanted opportunity costs that would affect our ability to go after the players and profiles we need this summer. Is he worth that? To me he isn’t mostly because he doesn’t necessarily fit positionally in our team. Would he help our attack in the short term? I don’t doubt it and I like him as a player but I just really feel like it will delay us addressing our real problem areas - pace and game breaking ability on the left wing and a bona fide 9.

Cunha is also 25 years old and entering into his peak, he'll probably cost £50m but I think he'll be worth it. He's versatile in that he can play across the whole front three and one thing I really like about him is how well he plays in tight spaces, plenty of players look good in transition but from my extensive youtube research (lol) he seems very good in tight areas. Most seems park the bus against us so we need players like that.

JazzG didn't Wolves play close to £50m? Think they'd be expecting a bigger profit.
