Coombs agree I felt the arseblog discussion and point about taking some more gamble with forwards was more accurate and they don't have to be 100 mill hyped talents either. I also don't think Saka validates the coaching point because Saka is just one of those talents who will pretty much shine whatever manager.

But more telling for me are the less elite players that probably need more guidance in an attacking aspect to get the most out of them and looking at the squad I don't think I'm seeing signs that Arteta is contributing to that.

I agree that thought experiment by Elliot is totally absurd there is no guarantee that changes the outcomes and we've played enough recent games with our main squad and still struggled so the idea that's the issue at hand so reductive.

I don't think there are any excuses that you could look at our squad and not see Jesus and know he's finished for us for at least the last year. Martinelli has been performing at this level for the past 18 months. Trossard and havertz are good in the squad but limited.

4 of the offence players for me with major issues so we should have been approaching the summer as we need to do something in that area and it doesn't even have to be elite level. A bit like the Trossard signing really.

HomeSteak Would you guys move for Rashford?

For the love of God, we need to stop with the galaxy-brain shit. Just make signings that make sense for obvious reasons.

However, I am more receptive to the idea that Arsenal don’t really need the Goldilocks attacker if one is not available.

Oh, if only there was some versatile superstar homegrown attacker with a €60m release clause looking to play Champions League football available in the summer. Oh well. Let's sign this leftback and this 28 year old mediocre midfielder, then.

HomeSteak Yes boss man, I will not sign Rashford then.

That wasn't directed at you, FYI. Just general frustration with priority setting.

DiabyKungFu i know man, just joking. And regarding me asking, you just know we will be linked to him, Ian Wright already posted about not giving up on him...

Olise missed half of last season with hamstring injuries. If Edu had paid £53m and this guy got injured once, we’d never hear the end of it.

Great player but is at his best in Saka or Odegaard’s position.

Priority was and remains sorting the left hand side

Claudius are you saying that if we could've, it wouldn't have been the right decision ti sign him because people would have complained if he got injured, or are you saying you don't think it would have been the right decision to sign him?

QuincyAbeyie I’m saying read the forum and see the regular comments that “Arteta and Edu bought this and that player despite his injury record”.

QuincyAbeyie it’s not irrelevant. I’m applying the standard that is commonly applied. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. We can’t be critical that a player who missed half the season wasn’t bought and also complain constantly about how injury prone the squad is. Let’s have some consistency.

I also want some nice AMs and forwards. But I also have said that you need to have 3 things in a player - 1) quality, 2) availability, and 3) system fit. Guys like Odegaard, Saliba and Saka are great because they nail all three

Claudius i guess you're not seeing how you want to have your cake and eat it too by both saying we couldn't have signed Olise because the fans would've criticized it and saying that Arteta has proven the fans wrong on other signings.

Big Willie yea unfortunately Dules is right my man has Liverpool written all over him.

He's come down to earth a bit in December but the level he was playing before was absurd, 30+ G/A by November.
