Not sure why we'd be looking at Ferguson. When was his last appearance for Brighton?
el Janny Tranny
A fit Ferguson would net lorry loads for us but just don’t have confidence he’ll ever be consistently available
We need to get Mathys Tel in this window, even if it's on loan. Perfect type of forward for us in that he can play across the front line. Ideally we would get an option to buy of course but at this point, I'd even take a straight loan.
Dula’s guy says no striker signing
I’ve lost the extra l!
what we know about Arteta is he likes to stick to his plan - and he's had Sesko, Isak and/or Williams in his sights for over a year now. so i expect he won't want to compromise those deals. If we assume Sesko is most likely, and would come in the summer, then the deals that probably make sense now are something like returning Vieira and loaning Vlahovic. If we can somehow trick Klopp and move Sesko forward, that would be best.
They’ve put out the price they want for him.
Sicario2 - Tier 1 I wanna punch Romano so hard.
HomeSteak re: Nypan, the issue is less the player and more the 24 hour media coverage that like to build epic story arcs about the smallest of things.
Him taking time over his decision is pretty reasonable - he's contemplating a big move, a big change to his life in leaving his homeland...all things that shouldn't be taken lightly.
Impressive that Chelsea continues to be able to get rid of their shit players. They could probably manage to fetch 30m for Mudryk...
If Jhon Duran is available we surely need to be there? With Axel Disasi moving to Villa I can't help but think Chelsea might have already done or be close to a deal. This guy has serious potential, I didn't think Villa under any circumstance would let him go.

JazzG I think he's a very hard player to assess. There's a reason why he's not starting for Aston Villa, and it's that despite his obvious goal scoring ability, he doesn't do enough of everything else.
QuincyAbeyie Yeah, for 80m you'd want a sure thing not someone that might just be going through a purple-patch.
You are right in saying Watkins probably has a better all round game but he is 29 whereas Duran is 21, so has plenty of time to iron out chinks in his game.
Something about him, he looks a physical specimen and seems to have the x factor about him, can score a goal out of nothing. His movement is top class on top.
Big money I'm guessing, only 24 years old as well. Supposedly Jhon Duran has big money offers from Saudi as well.
It sounds like Heaven is going to Manchester United.
I assume they are doing the same thing they did with Chido Obi Wan Kinobi - just give him an experienced player salary when he's barely getting League Cup minutes.
Personally, I’m more intrigued by Mathys Tel than Duran. I’d love to see if we could drop 40-50m on Bayern’s door and see if they blink. He’d be great immediate cover and looks like he could develop into a real world class LW or CF.
samthegooner It is looking like going into the final week there are options appearing now, the options are limited and expensive but that is the cost for doing business in January.
Doubt we’ll bring in anyone.
Watch Havertz get injured in a couple of weeks
Gazza M heaven joining the Red devils while they're in hell. Games gone
Knew there was a reason I didn't like him
But in a serious note, he never looked to me like someone who'd be able to make the step up, and never impressed me to the point where I'm asking for him to get a few minutes here and there like we do with some of our other more impressive youth players.
Shame he's going for free and not for that 100% HG pure profit, but it is what it is. Pretty attrocious decision making from him there but I guess the money they're throwing around talks.
Big Willie i imagine they're giving him 30,000 pounds a week. His mom and dad will sit him down and tell him to grow up and stop talking about passion and cleaning Gabriel's balls. money talks.
Heaven forbid he turns out good, we won't hear the end of it.
I'd take Ferguson on loan if we had the space but we don't. I'd use most of that time to test his fitness and try to figure out if his issues are long term or not. If he could get fit he'd be an ideal CF to develop but that's a big if.
No from me.
Hmmm can't rely on his availability unfortunately. Would be a massive gamble. Can't see it happening.
The fact that Brighton supposedly feel now is the right time to cash in on him is a warning sign in and of itself.
Counting down the days when this shitty window shuts. Most annoying window of recent times. Don’t expect anything to happen outside of the Norwegian kid.
Don Pacifico True but Brighton also have invested a fair bit in different strikers so might need the money. They've not really sold any players for big money either since Caicedo as far as I can remember and their whole business model is built around these big sales.
Loan with option would be ideal, can properly assess the player. But on a permanent would be a big gamble, need to do quite a thorough medical to make sure there are no underlying issues. Sometimes players just get unlucky.

That's my point - the fact they think now is a good time to sell suggests they think his stock won't get higher than it is now.
I just feel like what's the point of going for Ferguson if we are likely in a good spot to get Sesko this summer. Ferguson may cost a little less and is a little over a year younger but also doesn't seem to have the physical traits that Sesko has, nor the production over a sustained period of time. I'd rather be going after a different profile if we feel like we are going to come back for Sesko in the summer.
He's the flavor of the week for me but I don't see why we aren't testing Bayern's resolve for Mathys Tel. Tall, fast, and a good finisher who has looked good whenever he's played for them, but doesn't have a ton of playing time at the moment. He's the type of opportunistic signing that I think is made for the January window, even if we would have to pay a little more for what he is projected to be, as opposed to his current level. I'd be up for taking a gamble on a player like him at a higher price than an injury prone Ferguson personally. I hope we are at least asking about him.
