Massive blow and I think for me that's the title probably not on for us this year. I think there needs to be a look at where are we and what are we looking to do as a club. If we want to take the next step what Arteta has built for as good as it is, won't be enough so can he be flexible and change or if he can't does that mean his time is nearly up.

I said it earlier in the season. We improved our points tally 5 seasons in a row. At some point, you have to have a drop off. The red cards and injuries have killed this team off. The summer was also poor and is worse than we bought Mustafi, Xhaka and Perez. Although, it looks like we were constrained by PSR.

Gurgen this. I hate how comfortable we are slipping into the defensive structure, in games where, in my opinion we should be harassing and pressing hard. Newcastle barely offered a threat yet there we were, 11 behind the ball. Maintaining shape.

Claudius nah its not churn. That disconnect is completely self inflicted. We looked like a team for a while when Partey went back into midfield. Artetas obsession with squezzing him in at right back even though he had White, Kiwi, Zinchenko, etc on the bench totally fucked up our structure right from the off. Merino might come good eventually but right now he offers very little, Rice is asked to control midfield and its not his strength and Trossard is a forward and a finisher not a build up player.

DiabyKungFu its going to take Ode time to be able to carry us again. He'll be asked to do too much straight away and when we take him off it'll be for Merino or someone and that'll unbalance us again. And that as you say is damning of the summer business.
