Coombs it should be. The law isn’t applied that was in practice. Despite there not being any distinction in the laws about fouls in the box, the threshold for a foul in the box is much different to the rest of the pitch. Should be that way, but it is, and that’s why Awooga is probably right.
They’ll say Taylor didn’t see the context with the ball and that was a clear and obvious error. And that won’t be anti-Arsenal bias as it’s the same inconsistent application of the rules in general.
The fact fouls are refereed different in the box drives me mad. Getting the slightest touch on the ball elsewhere on the pitch doesnt justify a poor tackle, but it does in the penalty area. Ridiculous that it’s accepted.
