I'm not discounting that we also need to improve our own performances but to say that's the only thing we need to focus on while we're getting dicked by refs whenever possible is a little unfair.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Nonsense. Walker was 10 yards behind the ball for a shot from outside the box. Odegaard slipped on a waterlogged pitch. You can't fight against corruption every single game. You can't make horrible decisions immaterial every single game. Fairness matters. I think we have nowhere near enough energy going into refs. The club should intimidate these refs into submission, just like Fergie did. Because that's the only language they understand. That and bribes, but we don't do that.

I agree. We should hammer refs publicly more often, and we should do it in a premeditated way so that it doesn't distract from the rest of the squad's preparation. Forget emotion, Arsenal should just set up a public relations task force for cleverly sticking the knife in these pricks—and do it in a way that makes us look good, not weak.

If they're going to send one of our players off for dodgy reasons almost half the time we play anyway, we might as well go for it. The situation's been fucked and I think it's quite plausible it costs us the league this season.

Arteta should come out and defend another team on the end of a dodgy decision but someone who's from London and not a threat and who's been on the end of a load of shit calls.

I think this is the biggest part of these discussions until a club/manager in good faith comes out and says we benefitted from this decision that VAR or the ref made and we think it's unacceptable and not correct etc these types of issues will always get looked at by whatever team as your moaning because the decision went against you. I understand why we all do that but that ends up undermining the case that you genuinely want to see a "fairer" system. Most of the time we probably say maybe it was a bit lucky but that's football or I didn't see it.

Claudius it's not really about being a gentleman for me it's just if you want to try to make changes then that's what you need to consistently do on your own matches more then others to look like you are serious about wanting a"fair" system.If you don't then you are shouting into the void which is fine just don't expect it to count for anything.
