I disagree. In that position, and under those circumstances these decisions are frequently not given. That's why the on field call was a yellow card. Evanilson would've had to thread a needle at 35 km/h to stay on the ball and avoid fair challenges from Saliba and White to get a shot off. Saliba wasn't caught standing either.
Every time one of these decisions has come down there's been plenty of gooners eager to roleplay gritty hard-bollocked realism and tell the rest to suck it up, but every time the decision has had neither a consistent precedent nor a consistent subsequent application. Fact is we shouldn't accept harsher refereeing standards than every other club.
