I'm the opposite. Both are bullshit reds but Trossards is a more normal action that you see every week. Rice is more aware of what he's doing. Doesn't change the fact Veltman kicks the ball at him first and then kicks him though. Trossard had under a second before he kicked that ball. Carding for that is crazy and as we've seen no one else is getting carded for the same action.

Qwiss I would have more sympathy for Trossard had he not smashed into Bernardo (read: fouled him) and then booted the ball in his next action. I just think - with this ref - you have to be smarter than Trossard was. It's a harsh decision, of course it is, but it's also one Trossard invited the ref to make.

We shouldn't have to walk on eggshells and play by different rules. He cleared the ball away (which is a normal thing to do) as the whistle was blown for halftime. If an opposing player does this, none of us remotely care.

my main quibble when arteta deploys haram ball is our passing game is fugazi. the defending itself is rugged and effective, but we still havent cracked the code of combining deep block defending with an efficient transition game. imo that's the last piece of the jigsaw that prevents us from winning every kind of football match.

I am still dumbfounded that there are a lot of people out there sayiing that Partey injured Rodri. I dont see how that was Partey's fault. They bumped shoulders and the knee that was closest to Partey was not the one injured. It was very clear (to me) that Rodri simply planted his foot wrong after the bump, and that was pretty much all on him. If that bump caused his knee to tear, it was about to tear no matter what happened.

Gazza M Agree, we still waste a lot of promising situations in transition. Real Madrid is great at this and it helps them win CLs bc you only get 1 or 2 situations like that in a match.
