Sicario2 - Tier 1 We got 4 points against them last season. City got 1. Slice it however you like but head to head we did what we had to do last season. We lose the league because we dropped points throughout December and until we returned from Dubai.

Rodri's comments echo the same butthurt comments Wenger would make when a team would sit back against us and we'd struggle to break them down.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 like you said, tomorrow is a 6 point swing. Win and it favours us but with 30+ games to go it's not a decisive blow. Lose and City have enough experience to put us to bed by December like they usually do.

I can broadly understand being frustrated with being defensive last season at the Etihad because it was the title run in but given that it's September and we're going through something of an injury crisis there's even more value in being pragmatic.

A win would be amazing but not decisive, a draw would be fine but a loss is a disaster and imo would be decisive given where we are.

Yeah, well its not that we didnt want to win, but playing an open game against City is suicide. Keep it tight, and hope to hit them on the counter attack or with a set piece. We will not go guns blazing tomorrow either.

And even a defeat need not be terminal. We'll have ticked off City, Villa and Spurs by the end of today, that's three of the hardest away games we will play all season.

If you're looking at City and telling me now they aren't going to drop at least five points (and yes, I know it will need to be more) over the next 33 games, nothing they've ever done in the Premier League points to that - as good as they've been.

They've got Newcastle away next week, so even a draw today could put us top next week.

But everyone here understands how massive it would be for us to win today, of course we do.

Ode is a miss but it’s worth taking it account he often struggles in big away games and has done nothing of any note the last two times we played City away.

I feel Ode is more of a miss for our easy games if we don’t finish teams off properly.

I don't think a draw is a bad result just that when you are up against a team like City you are never sure when they will drop points and the only influence you have as a rival is to be the one who makes them drop points. A draw is fine but then you turn it into a run out against city and history has pretty much shown they win those even with as good have we have been the last few seasons they out perform us in the points over the season so we need to ensure they drop points and try to tilt that in our favour.
