One thing I've been thinking about since the Brighton game and it solidified yesterday was, I think it's inarguable - if a slightly harsh judgement - that Trossard kicked the ball away after the whistle was blown and so the second yellow card is technically correct... But it's absolutely mental that players should get sent off as a result of this. Really, when you add up what Trossard did - as with Tomi last season - there's no way players should be getting sent off for that.
So I think as much as it's hard to take Michael Oliver's application of the laws, it's actually the laws of the game which are the problem.
Although, on the flip side Oliver also allowed Haaland to run around like a runaway train yesterday, committing far worse fouls and get away scott free. So maybe it is the ref after all!
