Didn't see Jesus is back too. Him and Sterling are our only good options off the bench. Nwaneri is a wildcard

naz I expect Nwaneri will have to play. That midfield is not going to last 90 minutes. Only Havertz the superman can. So we will end with Partey and Havertz to protect Nwaneri perhaps.

The challenge here is we have enough disruption. You don’t put a 17 year old kid into a disrupted environment for 90 minutes and ask him to thrive. You give him a platform for success. That means ideally protecting him with Odegaard and Rice against a weak team if you want him to start. We need to do right by our kids

Claudius yep. We are going to need Nwaneri at some stage too because that midfield is going to need an injection of energy in the second half. Kai will keep on trucking but the other 2 will fall off after the hour.

We'll likely see Kiwior get on too.

Claudius if Rice was fit I'd be bullish about Nwaneri. In a settled side a straight swap for Ode seems ok to me but without Rice, Merino, etc it's a bit much. Against City isn't the right time either. Against Leicester and Soton I'd be looking to start him if Ode and Merino are still out.

Nwaneri must be considered a good option since we got rid of the other attack-minded midfielders.

What's with all the panic. We still have a pretty strong team out there and should be able to beat these lot. Ode is a big miss, true, but we have enough about us with Saka, Trossard, Martinelli and Havertz to get at them with deep balls from Partey and Jorginho. And our defence is the same solid mfkers they have always been. Have to say, I'm pretty confident about this one.

Nahhhhhh, we still have plenty of quality, and we aren't playing ManU. But i did just see them put up all our injuries (or absences)... Holy shit... Rice, Ode, Tomi, Tierney, Cala, Zinny, Merino.... Thats a lot of experience (3M and 4D)... our bench is full of kids, but Sterling and Jesus could be instrumental coming off the bench, and Im sure both will at one point.
