Maybe some Nwaneri minutes since the bench is limited looking today. If Obi Martin had more patience he'd potentially have made the squad today too.

Tactics

Hoping to see Calafiori for Gabriel if Brighton set up similar to how Villa did. Our CBs are fantastic but the ball progression from that area can be suboptimal at times. Calafiori could have helped us progress play much better if he had started that match. We are all expecting him to be our starting LB but I wouldn't rule out him getting loads of playing time at CB.

I idea of replacing Gabriel horrifies me. I haven't doubted the club for a long time but that would definitely get me questioning. It could easily be another Ramsdale - Raya situation but I'm still convinced he's here to predominantly play LB.

Gabriel has already played a few really good balls to Rice/Tross to bring us on the front foot. Plus against Villa it was his ball to Trossard that led to the goal.

daredevil I think you misunderstood me. I am not talking about permanently benching Gabriel but using Calafiori to combat specific tactics. What is the point of having all these quality defenders if we never rotate them?

I hope Mikel learns how to use his squad properly. We see City frequently rotating their CBs, why can't we do the same? That's how you keep players focused, sharp and motivated. Besides, some players are better suited against specific tactics/opponents, so I hope we take that into consideration instead of just playing the same team week in week out.
