Not strengthening the attack would be a massive risk given that it's been an area we've needed to bolster. The type of player who can make the difference in those small number of matches that the gameplan doesn't work. To go into this season with what we have already know as a team is a massive risk and it has to be on Arteta and edu. Jesus and martinelli are big question marks this this season and we desperately need our luck with Ode and Saka to hold out. I don't think that's a good way to go about running into a new season but they have to own that if this is how it ends.

Clrnc Yeah big season for Nelson coming up. Hopefully he can be a useful contributor...any time we have an attacking injury he will be 1 of only 2 attacking options on the bench.

Looking forward to see what Nwaneri can do too but doubt we will be able to compete with City again this season. A few bad results will take their toll.

Think we will come 3rd behind City and Pool.

What is all the doomsday shit going on here? Could we use another half decent attacker? Yep. Are we in dire straits because we did not sign one? Nope. We strengthened 2 other weak(er) spots on the team at LB and at CM plus we have Timber back this season plus a more settled and confident Raya. Lets not forget that we went 16-1-1 in the last 18 games last season with virtually the same team, minus the CM & LB upgrade.

USArsenal if we get close again this year and don't win, it won't be despite doing all we could this summer to make ourselves as competitive as possible. It will be because we didn't. Out net spend is virtually zero - we cheaped out. Money is the one thing we use against City when we can't beat them, but if we don't use what we have then that money doesn't really matter.

Seems like Sterling will happen. Be interesting to see him under Arteta. I recon we’ll improve his fitness and he’ll be a weapon for us.

Remember wishlisting him as he left Liverpool.

DiabyKungFu yeah, Nelson isn't good enough to be depth. Arteta never wants to play him. That probably won't happen with Sterling.
