Mik Merino
We should have kept Vieira and sold Eddie. Now we need to keep Eddie as we can't find anyone. That's a big fuck up in short term planning.
Signing Merino and Calafiori looks great though.
Havertz establishing himself as first choice 9 should make a big difference compared to what we started with last season. IF he's fit Arteta will be much more willing to rotate Saka (and Martinelli) with Jesus than he was with Nelson.
Pepe LeFrits it's the overall shared minutes that's worrying. We had to find dependable cover to trim Havertz and Saka minutes by around 500, but now all of them have to share the additional 2500 minutes left by our players. We also have additional 2 UCL matches this year.
This is a huge gamble on everyone fitness in a year we had Euros and Copa.

Though maybe Arteta is going to give Nwaneri loads of minutes and he'll be amazing and suddenly our attacking depth will be awesome

Has Eddie left? Agree this is probably the biggest unforced error blunder

Well Merino should reduce Kai's minutes as he'll be used in midfield less, Jesus will reduce Saka's minutes I think.
There's always potential for additions in January as well.

Haven't seen any confirmation. I reckon it'll fall through
Just saw the presser, he said it's a small fracture, whatever comfort that might offer.
QuincyAbeyie Oof what an own goal.

Lads, go out and drink a beer, light a jizzler, whatever... Beefing about a lack of action tonight, perceived or otherwise, isn't going to change the reality of it. It's really not worth winding yourselves up about.
Brighton tomorrow is what counts. I don't think we've even got a match thread yet!
Two very good signings this summer solving two big problem areas. Easy 7/10 window for me. Biggest downside is Merino potentially being out longer than a month.
RocktheCasbah this.
I'm sure some will disagree with me on this but I find it difficult to be too vexed with the knowledge of where we've been for the last decade or so. We're a serious side now with an improving squad. Yes, we're all disappointed about our attacking options but there is so much to be positive about.
Don Pacifico exactly.
I've said elsewhere that it is underwhelming we haven't got the difference maker we wanted, so I'm not trying to brush it under the carpet but I can't get on board with a "we're all doomed" mindset. We're a fucking great team, just needing a little bit of magic sauce. That's all it is.
Anyway, just to prove I'm practising what I preach, I'm off to go and play snooker now. Have great evenings everyone.
