Jorginho made a decent number of high profile defensive errors due to his slowing foot speed, particularly in the period soon after he arrived at Arsenal.

Burnwinter the one against Spurs was a big one but I can't say I remember defensive errors being a regular thing for Jorginho.

That's not to diminish Merino's upturn in form of late but I get what Sicario means in that he was probably more reliable, more quickly.
