Tactics

Hope we don't play him in a traditional striker role but more as an attacking midfielder (similar to his role at Sociedad) but with the instruction to make runs into the box as soon as we get the ball out wide. Those sort of runs are much harder to defend.

That set up also gives us numerical advantage in midfield and CBs will have to decide to either keep marking empty space or take the risk and follow him in midfield.

The way he runs around the corner flag may be insulting people in wheelchairs who can't do that? Or perhaps he's mocking his father? I'm sure the FA will figure it out and punish him accordingly.

What I liked also was he seemed intelligent enough on a few occasions to drift out wide and let Nwaneri drive in the middle when it suited. Could be useful..

Having said that, happy he got a few goals but if this is the way forward for now.. Arteta has got work to do to adapt the midfield as he is not going to be the type of CF that brings others into play which has been the go to way we have been playing..

He done prob as well as expected but his all round play is poor. If he doesn’t score as a CF he is pretty much next to useless.

I would keep him as a squad player for midfield next season but he makes me appreciate Kai more.

Sicario2 I think it goes to show that anyone can score up front in this team. If we get a real striker they could absolutely go crazy up there.

Claudius he was injured at the beginning and then been bang average in midfield until being our striker. He has a nack for goals ill give him that.

Qwiss -- I wouldn't be too worried by Trossard vs Lucas on that flank. Might be a little concerned if they were to start Valverde there, but he's been a staple in midfield lately.

Lucas - Asensio - Rudiger - Mendy

We should be able to get at them, and in particular with our left flank. If Merino starts he'll need to be instructed to fade left (which he seems to do) and try to isolage vs Asensio. Odegaard will have a hard time vs Rudiger though.

MistaT yeah but I'd rather run Martinelli at them than Trossard. If you play bothe then Trossard in the middle seems the better option to me.

Qwiss -- fair. I suppose I'm assuming Saka won't be ready, and so I'm imagining a Trossard - Merino - Martinelli front line, instead of a Martinelli - Trossard - Nwaneri front line.

I'd play a Mertinelli--Merino--Nwaneri front 3.

They are kinda dodgy on set pieces, so expecting Jover to weave his magic.

Merino's done quite well all things considered as a makeshift striker. Better than Gabriel Jesus anyway.
