I can get behind the sentiments that not all things are equal, but in this instance what difference does it make either way? You're still delaying the restart.

This is exactly what I mean when I say the discussion surrounding incidents like this have lost all sense. People stop caring about the principles and common sense behind those laws and instead start dissecting these things like defence lawyers.

Rice one, which I also feel was not a yellow, he kicked it out of play. He shouldn't have got a yellow because he thought the ball had been kicked.

Szoboslai is an RVP situation, he was already gonna kick the ball the whistle doesn't mean you instantaneously stop.
Bentancur also was always gonna kick the ball to carry on and just slow to react to the whistle.

I know refs have been shit but doesn't mean every situation needs to have a shit call.

There was actually a situation similar to the Rice one and in that one the Spurs player gets a yellow just as daft.

banduan are you watching Porro or Bentancur in that clip? Bentancur clearly didn't try to play the ball.

Yeah Porro you could say decided to play the ball early on and was a delayed reaction to the whistle. Bentancur though controlled the ball after the whistle, held onto it until Havertz was close enough to try to get the ball, then knocked it away.

The second Spurs player knocked the ball back towards where the foul was committed (rather than away from it), and actually helped Trossard to get the ball quicker and restart.

I do agree with Goon's general point. Although, the refs will no doubt be dissecting it exactly like that to explain why they are different.
