Sicario2 - Tier 1 I mean sure, to a point...but it's still just two points. If anything, given you think our squad is inferior (etc.), the fact that we were just two points off suggests that there are some intangibles we possess to help close the gap.

Ultimately, I think you're being a bit defeatist (not a winner 😉). Yes, City are favourites but I see no reason why we can't better them this season. It will be hard but it's definitely possible.

More realistic than defeatist. You got to respect who you are up against and be humble to know we haven’t done anything yet.

Let’s hope for the best but with ref’s fucking us (doesn’t happy to City) and random injuries (happens to us more than City) it’s going to be very tough. That’s why an ‘x factor’ signing would have made a difference.

Anything less than 4 points next two games I think it’s already over but let’s see.

Only "advantage" of yesterday's sham of a refereeing performance is that it can help us forge a stronger "us against them", siege mentality. An early wake up call of sorts. I'm sure Arteta will use it to motivate the boys.

Mbeumo is the kind of under the radar proven PL player that Ferguson would buy back in the day and he'll end up playing a key role in helping him win the league.

I think he's a CL level player and don't think the likes of Doku are better than him. Would happily have him in our squad next season along with an elite forward.

The attack for Liverpool looks good, very effective at punishing teams which is something we as a team still struggle to do. We take charge of periods of play but we nowhere near score enough from those moments. Even yesterday we were hammering Brighton on the right playing balls into the wing with Saka and kept exposing them but couldn't actually turn that period of play on the wing into a goal.

awooga83 Liverpools press is getting them their chances. They aren't controlling or creating in general play. Its effective as fuck, especially against this United time but I don't find it that impressive. They've got Salah though who is just brilliant all the time so when they win the ball he does the right thing and their other forwards eat. Diaz is very good too, always been a fan of his play. I'd take him next summer if Liverpool are that stupid, very underrated player. Gravenberch has been decent too, looks like he might be stepping up a bit after his first season with them was quiet enough.
