For me, 9 points is a lot but there is still such a long way to go. Liverpool have dropped 5 points from 39 - basically, they're close to doing what we did in the first half of the season 2 years ago. There's no way they're keeping that form up all season - Southampton nearly got a point off them - but if they do, all you can say is salut!

Clrnc yeah all this chat about the difficult fixtures and they've navigated them very well when we were saying that was the reason we couldn't easily get results for the Atalanta and City games but they are coping much better with that period. As you say they've got the best defensive record it's hard to say they are more vulnerable then us say. This will be a big setback for me if they win the title in terms of where we are going and the question can we win the title with this manager etc.

Liverpool are always great in big games at home plus are riding a wave of momentum, just beat Real midweek too. I can see them getting stretched and dropping points. I think it will come down to the head to head between contenders like season before last. We should have beaten them at the Emirates, need to beat them at Anfield and it will be very close.

RocktheCasbah well it makes the rest of the game less significant but I will be dreading the confirmation because Liverpool winning the title would be a big setback for us as a club I would have serious questions about whether we need to look at what we are doing and do we need something different.

If we drop points against United or Fulham, the title race is definitely over. The pressure is back on us after this result.

Liverpool may drop points against Newcastle but it would be an ominous sign if we're dropping them too.

I really do not understand what Arne Slot being good at coaching has to do with the question of whether or not Mikel Arteta is good at coaching.

DiabyKungFu not being good at coaching but winning the big trophies, only a select few managers are able to do that and at the moment we've got to we are a good side coached well without the ability to cross the line and win the big trophies. Until we do the team are great players and the manager will be categorised with those types of teams which even spurs managed to reach.So the question is what are we missing and what do we need do to make that progress and all factors have to be assessed against that in my view.
