Sicario2 I don't personally get why some arsenal fans seem obsessed with Emery I don't really have ill will against him it didn't work we moved on now he's not really anything to do with us who cares? But if you want to go down that road you're going to have to allow all the people who will say arsenal bottled the league etc but I'm sure they try and defend that to.

awooga83 cos he gave us football like the United managers. Both of those guys (Ten Hag and Amorim) will give United trophies but will never challenge for a title. Because like Emery their teams lack discipline. They often don’t get into good defensive shape, so when it falls apart, it’s dire.

awooga83 it’s because when ever a rival fan (or sometimes even Arsenal fans) try to belittle Arteta they always use Emery as a yardstick.

You notice it on social media, any time Emery does well they usually bash Arteta after.

I don’t have anything against Emery per se but I do think he’s a bit overrated. He’s a good underdog manager but when the emphasis on his side to be the favourite and act like the favourite he often fails.

Claudius I mean the club was in a bad place as well and the club didn't back him in the same way as Arteta. I don't say it was a good period I just don't get it for me he's gone who cares move on.

I think what Sicario2 is true but I think some Arsenal fans do the opposite whenever Emery gets a bad result uses it to boost Arteta both ways are silly in my view. Anyway like I said I'd you want to go down that path fine but the same applies to Arteta until we land one of the big trophies then you can credibly shut people up.

TambourineMan it's disappointing the league season this time we really messed up 13 draws just very poor we are a hard team to beat but we haven't been able to win enough and that has to change and the summer has to address that.

Now next goal is to get to CL final (minimum). If we get knocked out by PSG and then have to give a guard of honour at Anfield that would hurt.

As long as we are in the CL (until hopefully we win it) we can ignore the league campaign and Liverpool winning it. If not then reality will hit.

awooga83 It was totally expected without a centre forward too. Essentially, goals have been too difficult to come by when it's come to the crunch moments. 3 less goals conceded than Liverpool but 17 less scored. Also less goals scored than the next 2 teams behind us. Only 1 more goal scored than Spurs, but 27 less conceded, hence the gap in the table.

invisibleman18 obviously we need a CF but another thing that I don't think gets enough attention is our goals from midfield. Odegaards and Rice both way down on goal vs last season. Odegaard went from 15 goals 2 years ago, to 8 last to 2 this season. Rice has gone from 7 last season to 2 this season. That 11 of your 17 goals right there.

Qwiss I don't think Ode is a goal scorer so we need to be adding goals not expecting him to improve as I don't think he's great at finishing. It's a bit like martinelli where they delivered a good season but not been able to do it consistently which is the issue.

Yeah, goals are part of the problem, but our biggest problem was drawing games from winning positions. We had like 9 of those. That's a LOT of games to only get 1 point instead of 3. Especially with the defense we have, we should not be dropping that many points from winning positions.

USArsenal I do think that’s just a goals thing tbh. As someone else said, we’ve scored 20 goals fewer than Pool. When you do that, you really leave yourself open to variance.

Oh, dont get me wrong, that's part of it.. But also, we should be able to lock games down and we don't. At least not this season. Probably of our goals against came from games that we lost a lead. Granted, if we scored a few more, it might not have mattered as much. Its a bit of both.

I can honestly say I have not seen a single second of celebrations by them either in videos or through text. It's not even like I was avoiding it either. I genuinely didn't realise they played in the PL yesterday and won it.

It's strangely satisfying not being in the UK this time of the year whenever we don't win because I can spare myself the exposure.

awooga83 he doesn't have to be hitting Frank Lampard numbers but I think last seasons numbers is a reasonable expectation for him. He's absolutely capable of that, he way outscored it the season before.
