Emery wrecked Villa's momentum against PSG with his subs and he did the same again tonight. In both matches his team were looking like the winners and he subs off most of his midfield, changes the formation and the momentum crumbles. It's tinkering for the sake of it and he can't help himself.
Dom 10000% this. He's a very good manager at setting up his team to start matches against big opponents or in big matches. But he is an awful in-game manager and too often his changes result in a complete change in game state favoring the opposition. The City defense is vulnerable, especially to teams with dynamic attackers like Villa have, yet he decides to basically play for the draw in the second half? Such a poor decision and he reaped what he sowed.
