Claudius Clearly, we’d always wanted Raya. He was just not available, and then Brentord changed their stance and we struck.
I get that, and it would make sense if we kept our powder dry for that then. Not spending big only to want to upgrade on the person you just spent big on.
Claudius The right thing in this context, is to go after the player you really want, and then deal with consequences later.
And this is where my point above will be relevent. Yeah, going for the player you really want and worrying about the consequences is all well and good if you are United or City with unlimited money glitches. And in general it will be ok as well because the players you really want are more often going to be playing in positions you are looking to strengthen your teams (i.e positions of weakness in anotherwise strong team like we have) rather than ones you just strengthened a year or two ago.
Claudius We should do that with every position.
If we go around strengthening positions where we are already the best we will only have ourselves to blame if we can't do the same thing in our weaker positions due to a lack of funds, PSR implications or whatever else.
