I think Lewis-Skelly has gone 3 for 3 so far this preseason. Nwaneri has been getting more attention but I think Lewis-Skelly has been even better.

I think today was the first time he looked positionally suspect.

I don't know what Vieira is going to contribute this season, he looks totally lost.

We need another attacking player of some quality before the window closes. Not that I'm breaking any news here, but it was so obvious tonight.

Martinelli has had about 4 practice sessions total including two a days.
Team still missing Cala, Saka, Rice, Saliba, Raya. And Merino almost certainly on the way.
This is the end of a tournament summer. Every serious team is still ramping up.

Obviously we can improve. The game would have been very different if the first chance that we had, we scored but that's the goal. It makes the difference when you're in those areas in those spaces in the box, putting the ball in the back of the net and we created a situation, we had another two or three big open situations to go better but we didn’t, so we have to improve.

He knows you cannot trust Jesus and Havertz. Let's hope we have the money to bring in a real striker

it's getting to the point where jorginho is ahead of partey in the pecking order. partey losing his explosion and ability to cover spaces leaves only his passing game left - while still decent - isnt enough to justify a start.

Been the case for six months already. Since Partey's last injury.

Feel a bit worried by today's performance, although I've only watched highlights and read the summaries. Granted it's only preseason but it'd be good to see signs of a turnaround from the players who weren't quite on it last season: Partey, Zinchenko, Martinelli, Jesus, Vieira. We probably need at least one of that latter trio to fire even if we reinforce.

Gazza M Physically washed, injuries have caught up with him. I don't think we can move him on but if we can find a way we definitely should.

Ideally we needed two CMs this window but only possible if we can move Partey.

Been clear since the end of the season that Partey is just going to see out his contract and go. I expect Merino will be ahead of him and Jorginho when he arrives so the Partey situation is what it is. He's one of a number of players who is in sharp decline and people need to stop pretending we can sit still and that players in the squad are going to reach peaks they haven't seen in quite some time. If anything we'll probably see as many drop offs as we do improvements. Calafiori and Merino go some way to addressing this but we need more.

Burnwinter I'm concerned too. I don't care about the result and it would be fine if it was Odegaard, Gabriel or even Havertz going through the motions but instead it's the likes of Zinchenko, Martinelli and Partey who look leggy. They're already our weak spots and haven't shown anything to suggest they're ready for the season.

Jesus has looked relaively sharp in pre-season so I'm hanging some hope there.

I haven't followed the pre season but I think we know that Zinchenko, Jesus and martinelli all looked pretty poor last season so big questions on them for this season. Also on the manager, are we going to risk going into the season without taking action to try to reduce the risk if they follow through on that form.

Well Jesus looks to be in fine condition. He’ll be ok provided he stays that way.

Martinelli might benefit from Calafiori and Merino.

Seems like we’re moving on from Zinchenko.
